The Premier League are working on a plan to resume fixtures which will be played behind closed doors, from the first weekend in May . Officials are looking at Sunday, July 12 as the scheduled finish date.  The proposals will be discussed extensively on a conference call by the 20 clubs on Friday.  However, it would need to be endorsed by the Government, public health bodies and the PFA. The Premier League is trying to fight financial losses and potential legal threats caused by the coronavirus shutdown.  There are obligations with broadcasters, who have a watertight £3billion-a-year deal which expires on July 31, with next season’s deal kicking in the following day.  Fixtures are currently suspended until April 30 at the earliest

Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, has revealed that it was Lionel Messi who proposed pay cuts at the club during the coronavirus outbreak. On Monday, the LaLiga champions announced a massive wage cut, to help the club cope during the pandemic. Players have agreed to  reduce their salaries by 70%  and will also contribute to ensure all employees are fully paid. “Messi told me from day one that this reduction had to be made. “This proposal came from the captains. It is a gesture that demonstrates their commitment to the club,” Bartomeu told SPORT. This come amid reports of a disagreement between senior Barca players and club directors over the degree of wage reduction.

President Trump  announced on Monday that the United States has tested over 1 million people for the  coronavirus  as he unveiled a new rapid test kit for the contagion that is supposed to give results within five minutes. Speaking from the White House’s Rose Garden, Trump said that reaching 1 million tests is “a milestone in our war against the coronavirus.” Trump’s announcement on the new rapid test kit from Abbott Laboratories comes just days after the company said that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration had given them emergency clearance to produce its cartridge-based test. Osun State Government on Sunday raised alarm that some criminals were asking citizens to submit their voter card or Bank Verification Number in exchange for relief items during the stay-at-home period. A statement signed by the Secretary to Osun State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, said those behind the move wanted to explore the ban on movement and gathering to prevent spread of coronavirus in the state to take advantage of unsuspecting citizens. Describing the information as false, the government declared that it had not asked its citizens to submit their security details in exchange for money. It asked the citizens to ignore the message. Another week, another new smartphone from Samsung  - say hello to the Galaxy M11.  The phone was uploaded to the UAE website of the company without even a press release.  The Samsung Galaxy M11 has a 6.4” LCD of HD+ resolution with a punch hole in the top left corner for the selfie camera. The Korean company does not reveal its chipsets, but confirms the Galaxy M11 comes an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz.
